As one of the many events, the VIVACITY Club had organized a visit to Samvedana, mentally challenged children home to make the youth aware about the problems & hardships faced by these children & their efforts to cope up with them. The faculty incharges & the volunteers of the club planned and organized this event. Fund for this project was raised voluntarily by the faculty incharges, students & volunteers. Who participated in this activity and visited the place. Samvedana Charitable Trust is having approx 100 mentally retired children in their school. These students are of different age group from 4-45 yrs.
Transportation to the venue was arranged by the college authorities. All participants were keen to know about the disabled children & intricacies of their life. The college students tried to entertain the children by playing games with them and danced with them as well. They distributed gifts to these children and also included different items of daily needs like soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, dustbin, mop, shampoo, hair-oil, gas-stove, glasses, vessels for cooking etc. & food items like dal, pulses, grains, ghee, oil for cooking, etc. They also contributed money for providing milk to those students.
Students, faculty members, HOD of the department ant all others have appreciated this activity. The visit was for a few hours but it left an ever lasting impression on all of us. The visit left a deep impact on our conscious and on us as well. We were more sensitive than what we were when we arrived; sensitive towards the disabled people. Students feel proud and happy of being involved and participated in this noble selfless activity.
No event is possible without volunteers, who work at the backstage tirelessly for the event's success. Include all their names and their priceless contributions and activities for the accomplishment of the event.
