Industrial Visit to JK Paper Mill

The Placement Cell of Metas Adventist College had organised a Field Trip/ Industrial Visit for the MBA students to JK Paper Mill Ltd. – Songodh on September 20, 2018. Around 50 students along with two faculties were ready for the field trip. The reporting time for the students was at 6:30 am near the college gate. The bus left for the destination at 7:00 am. Breakfast was provided by the tour and guides at Metas International School, Vyara. We reached JK Paper Mill site at 10:00 am the time that was allotted to us by the company. Due to the lack of helmets we had to wait for a while as there was another group for the visit. At around 12:00 noon our first group with 25 in numbers got the chance to enter into the Mill, while the other group went for a visit to a nearby Temple. Before taking to the sites the guide gave the students few instructions. He went on showing and explaining from the starting of the wood being crushed by the huge machines into pieces till the finished products of paper being bounded and packed which took almost one and half hours for each team. The students were excited to see the huge machines and its work process and began to ask many questions. The guide seeing their curiousness answered each of their questions. It was a moment of great excitement and interest as the students could see the production of the paper through the great machines with their own eyes. The paper mill basically produced green and white colour papers with the pulp of bamboo, eucalyptus and subabul trees. The whole process of production takes about 4 to 5 hours.

The Industrial visit was over by 3:00 pm and the lunch was arranged by the tours and travels in Metas Internal School, Vyara at 3:30 pm. By 4:30 pm the bus left the campus and reached the premises of Metas Adventist College at 6:30 pm. The students were escorted by Dr. Priya Narayanan the class sponsor and Mr. Khirod Dalpati the placement officer.

Our sincere thanks to the Mr. Parvez Malek Sir for initiating and approaching the HR personals of the Industry and took an appointment for an Industrial visit. We thank the class sponsor Dr. Priya Narayan who is also a member of the placement team for co-ordinating the students for the industrial visit. Over all we would like to thank the Principal & the administrative committee for approving the industrial visit to JK Paper Mill Ltd.
